The Nova Scotia government is seeking to achieve savings for its drug plan and lower reimbursed retail generic drug prices are a component of the government’s plans. The government expects to implement the changes in summer 2011. A consultation process with multiple stakeholders including pharmacy, brand, and generic pharma companies was completed at the end of November 2010. It is believed that an evaluation of the results of the consultation process are under way.
